Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy is a collaborative, respectful approach to counselling that helps you understand your life by exploring the stories you tell about yourself, your relationships, and your experiences. Rather than seeing you as the problem, Narrative Therapy views the problem as separate from who you are - allowing space for new, more empowering stories to emerge.

What is Narrative Therapy:

Narrative Therapy is based on the idea that our identities are shaped by the stories we carry about our lives. These stories are influenced by our experiences, relationships, culture, and social context. When a problem-saturated story takes over, it can limit how you see yourself and what feels possible.

Narrative Therapy can be helpful if you are:

  • feeling stuck in negative self-beliefs or patterns

  • struggling with identity, life transitions, or role changes

  • coping with anxiety, depression, or low self-worth

  • navigating relationship challenges or family dynamics

  • processing trauma or difficult life experiences

  • wanting to reconnect with meaning, values, and purpose

Benefits of Narrative Therapy

  • greater clarity about identity and values

  • reduced self-blame and shame

  • increased sense of empowerment and agency

  • new perspectives on long-standing challenges

  • improved emotional resilience

  • more flexibility and choice in how they respond to difficulties

Take The Next Step...

If you feel defined by problems or stories that no longer reflect who you are, Narrative Therapy can help you reconnect with your strengths, values, and sense of possibility.
