Hi, I'm Marc Simpson

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating. You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or finding yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whatever has brought you here, I believe therapy provides an opportunity to pause, gain perspective, and create meaningful change. My goal is to offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward the life you want to live.

With over 30 years of experience working in mental health across community, hospital, clinical, and leadership settings, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people during some of their most challenging moments. I work with adolescents (16+), adults, and individuals navigating a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and concurrent disorders, interpersonal challenges, stress, and major life transitions.

My Approach

I believe every person has a unique story, and that healing begins when we have the opportunity to understand ourselves with greater compassion and curiosity. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people have the capacity to grow, change, and create more fulfilling lives.

Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and systems-based approaches, I work with clients to understand the patterns that have shaped their experiences, develop practical tools for managing difficult emotions, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I tailor each therapy experience to the individual, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing.

Whether you are navigating a difficult chapter, processing past experiences, struggling with your mental health, or hoping to better understand yourself and your relationships, I aim to meet you with empathy, honesty, and practical support.

My Experience

I hold a Master of Social Work from Laurentian University and am a Registered Social Worker in the Province of Ontario.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical environments, including hospital settings where I provided holistic social work assessment, treatment, and case management services. I have extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges, trauma, addiction, and concurrent disorders through both residential and outpatient treatment programs.

In addition to my direct clinical work, I have held senior clinical leadership roles, including providing professional supervision to multidisciplinary teams, leading program and policy development, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centred care.

At the heart of my work is a genuine passion for helping people recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create lasting change. I believe it is a privilege to be invited into someone’s story and to support them as they move toward greater confidence, resilience, and well-being.

A little bit about me ...

Outside of the therapy room, I value the importance of connection, balance, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. I enjoy  spending time with my family or out in the nature getting active.
