At Core Connections Psychology Centre, parent coaching provides a safe, supportive space for parents to reflect on their approach, better understand their child’s emotional world, and develop the practical skills needed to respond effectively across all stages of development.

Through an emotion-focused, family therapy-informed approach, we help parents strengthen connection, manage challenging behaviours, repair ruptures, and build strategies that foster trust, emotional safety, and resilience in the whole family.

Parent coaching offers a space to pause, reflect, and build skills that help you show up for your child in the way you want. Through an attachment and emotion-focused lens, we help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface of challenging behaviours - yours and theirs - and how to respond in ways that strengthen trust, connection, and emotional safety.

What is Parenting Support?

In person therapy located in Collingwood or Newmarket and  virtually across Ontario

Parent coaching is a place to pause, reflect, and begin to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface of your parenting challenges. You may be noticing patterns of reactivity, difficulty managing stress, conflict with your child, or uncertainty about how to support their emotional growth. Perhaps this is your first time seeking guidance, or you’ve realized that something needs to change in how you respond as a parent.

 

Whether you feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to respond calmly and effectively, parent coaching provides a safe space to reflect, process, and start building practical skills for meaningful change.

 

Some sessions may focus on exploring past experiences, family dynamics, or triggers that influence how you parent. Other sessions may be more practical—developing strategies to regulate emotions, set clear boundaries, repair conflicts, and provide emotion coaching for your child.

 

Over time, parent coaching can help you build greater self-awareness, develop emotional regulation skills, strengthen your connection with your child, and grow into a version of yourself that feels confident, calm, and supported in your parenting.
