Hi, I'm Saba Salemi

You might be here because anxiety is taking up more space than you want. Maybe you’re feeling low, unmotivated, or disconnected from yourself or others. Or maybe you’re moving through a big transition - starting a new chapter in like like starting university or college, graduating, immigrating, changing relationships. Perhaps you are noticing old patterns, emotions, or questions about who you are surfacing again.

I offer a warm, collaborative, and thoughtful approach to therapy that honours your unique emotional world. I work with adolescents, young adults,  and university and college students who are navigating the pressures of identity, relationships, belonging, and expectation - often while balancing family, cultural, and personal values that don’t always align.

I have a particular interest in working with immigrants and second-generation immigrants, as this is a lived experience I share. Many clients I work with are carrying the emotional complexity of living between cultures - feeling pulled between worlds, responsibilities, and identities. This can show up as anxiety, self-doubt, grief and loss, relationship struggles, or a persistent sense of not quite fitting anywhere. Therapy can be a place to slow this down, make sense of it, and reconnect with yourself in a more grounded and compassionate way.

My Approach

My work is grounded in understanding emotions, relationships, and the patterns that shape how you see yourself and connect with others. Together, we explore what keeps showing up in your inner world and in your relationships - not to overanalyze, but to help you understand why certain experiences feel so intense, confusing, or hard to move past. When it’s helpful, I also integrate practical tools to support emotional regulation, coping, and the everyday challenges that can make life feel overwhelming.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and genuinely collaborative - where you don’t need to have the right words or all the answers to begin. Over time, therapy can help you develop a clearer understanding of your emotions, greater confidence in yourself, and a stronger sense of trust in your relationships. We pay attention to how your nervous system responds under stress, explore ways you’ve learned to protect yourself, and gently work with patterns that may have once helped you cope but no longer serve you.

Our work may involve learning how to stay present with strong emotions, understanding why certain triggers hit so deeply, or reconnecting with feelings that have been pushed aside for a long time. Rather than seeing emotions as problems to fix, we treat them as meaningful signals that can guide you toward healthier, more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and the people in your life.

I take a collaborative and individualized approach, meeting you where you are and shaping our work around what matters most to you. My goal is to help you feel more emotionally steady, connected, and able to move forward with greater clarity, intention, and choice.

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based and relational therapies, psychodynamic work, and  Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

My Experience

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and hold a Master of Arts in
Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have also earned a Bachelor of Arts
in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), where my  thesis explored self-compassion and positive thinking in relation to body satisfaction.

A little bit about me ...

Outside of the therapy room, I value the things that help me slow down, feel grounded,
and stay connected to myself. I love movies, music, and yoga, each offering a different
way to reflect, feel, and reset. Whether it’s getting lost in a film, moving mindfully
through yoga, or connecting to music, these practices help me stay present and
emotionally attuned. I bring this same appreciation for balance, curiosity, and self-
connection into my work with clients.
